Going Green Magazine

Transforming a publication's outdated site to a true community hub

Creating a community hub

Ahead of Going Green’s 15th anniversary, we worked with the environmental magazine  to create a custom site, goinggreenpublications.com to serve as a hub for the environmental community, share important resources and events across the region, and function as an extension of the print magazine. This site was a complete redesign of an old, barely functioning site from 2014 built in Dreamweaver.

Built on a customized WordPress platform, the new site is responsive, mobile optimized, and includes key CTAs (calls to action) like signing up for Going Green’s newsletter, donating, or joining their popular Environmental Book Club and has a blog for important / timely content that doesn’t readily fit in the quarterly print magazine.

The new site also captures analytics and is easily updated by the client. With robust content, readers, advertisers and donors can engage with the magazine in greater depth and the client can easily update it.
