The Nature at Home Certification Program provides education and encouragement to create growing spaces–whether a yard, a field, or pots on a porch–that nurture plants, insects, birds, and other wildlife. This collaboration between Cape Fear Audubon, New Hanover County Arboretum, and the Master Gardener Volunteer Association, provides expert advice from master gardeners. After meeting the requirements, participants can have their green spaces certified as an official Nature at Home sites.
For this new initiative, we designed an informative brochure, created original illustrations, and edited content for clarity and brevity. This program is now being adopted by other counties across North Carolina.
