Connecting water year conditions to impacts across a range of sectors
As a long-time resident of Washington and Oregon, I jumped on the chance to design the 2024 Pacific Northwest Water Year report. This assessment is an essential resource for managing drought and other climate extremes.
This project provides new insights into how climate change is impacting the Pacific Northwest across multiple sectors, including drinking water, agriculture, recreation, forestry, fisheries, hydropower, and storm water.
The report features original icons, data visualization in the form of maps, charts, and graphs, and connects readers to the incredible diversity of Pacific Northwest landscapes through carefully curated photography.
This report is a collaboration between:
Washington State Climate Office
University of Washington Climate Impacts Group
Oregon Climate Service
Idaho Department of Water Resources
NOAA’s National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS)
Designed by Todd LeMieux and Cordelia Norris.
